The Community Development Commission of National City has a $100 million vision of transforming San Diego County's oldest city into a revitalized "smart growth" community.
Located just five miles south of downtown San Diego, National City was founded in 1868. 140 years of history and spectacular Victorian buildings that are among the oldest in San Diego County make redevelopment in National City a careful process. Included in the redevelopment is Paseo del Sol, a $12.5 million neighborhood project offering a 132-unit affordable housing development complete with community center, landscaped park and swimming pool. The project was named "Best Multifamily Residential Development" by the California Redevelopment Association.
National City’s subdivisions of Pasadena Park and Lincoln Acres offer homes in the $300,000 to $400,000 range. Rancho De La Nacion, which borders Bonita, is a diverse community with homes ranging from the affordable $300,000s to the millions for spectacular estates.
