Scripps Ranch is a suburban community located east of I-15 about 15 miles north of San Diego. Families are attracted to this area because of its high quality schools, recreation areas, close-knit community, and quality of life. The nearby Scripps Ranch Business Park is home to large companies like Geico and smaller product and service-oriented companies providing employment to local residents.
Most of the homes in the area were constructed in the housing boom of the 1970s-1980s. There are spectacular custom homes as well as housing tracts offering a variety of choices for the buyer. Much of the open area is set aside for recreation and as nature preserves, including Miramar Lake, which offers hiking trails and fishing. Most of the new construction is in the new master planned community called Scripps Ranch Villages along Scripps-Poway Parkway.
Housing in Scripps Ranch includes condominiums, townhomes, and single-family detached residences. Condominiums in the older areas such as Timberlane are the lowest priced. Newer developments like Triana, Legacy, and Affinity offer attached homes in the mid $400,000s and up. All of these complexes offer pools, tennis courts and recreation centers. There are numerous developments of detached homes in the area, ranging from the mid $500,000s at Aspire and Surrey Court to the $700,000s at Wine Country and The Parks, to The Arbors where luxury homes are more than $1 million.
